1967 Buick Star Wars Air Cleaner inspired "Clonewars" Air cleaner (customizable and less restrictive) Please read full ad.
Custom Carbon-Fiber Nylon "Clonewars" Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner Assembly (Buick GS / Riviera GS)Condition: New (Raw black finish with production flashing)Product OverviewBring classic 1967 GS and Riviera "Starwars" dual-snorkel style aircleaner to any Buick model. Whether you drive a Skylark, Electra, or Centurion, this air cleaner lets you represent at the local street scene, car shows, and Cars & Coffee just like an open-air element, but with legendary vintage looks.Because the design can be brand agnostic (no emblem holes) Hotrods, street rod, rat rod and other guys can sport the world's best looking Air Cleaner without needing to spend $$$ on an original (if you can find one).
  • Modern Material:Made with nylon (polyamide) infused carbon fiber—the exact same high-durability material used in modern car intake manifolds.
  • Ultra Lightweight: Weighs only about 1 pound compared to the heavy 4-pound originals.
  • Tough & Rigid: Incredibly strong. Tested with 16 pounds of weight to check for flex—it holds solid without bending.
Specifications & Fitment
  • Universal Fit: Designed to fit standard carburetors and TBI setups when using a generic 14" base (buy separately).
  • Filter Size: Sized for a standard 14 x 3-inch air filter element (ideal for breathing on 400+ cubic inch engines or high-horsepower small blocks).
  • Unrestricted Airflow: Snorkels are fully open. Air accesses 100% of the filter with a 1/4" gap at the closest edges. If you want more flow, cut and customize how you want.
  • Height: Roughly 3.5 inches from the carburetor surface to the top (using a generic base). Originals are 3 inches from their stock base. Generic bases can be trimmed for extra hood clearance if needed (check for carb or TBI linkage clearance first).
Customization & Finishing
  • Two-Piece Design: Upper and lower halves screw together just like the original. You can easily separate them to drill holes for custom emblems.
  • Make It Your Own: Trim out the assembly, add "BUICK" letters, a shield medallion emblem, a chrome knob, or whatever custom touch you prefer.
  • Finish Recommendation:
    • These ship raw with production "flashing". Cameras struggle to capture the true texture of the black material.
    • I recommend using a plastic binder, primer, and paint.
    • Use a steel brush to scuff and clear out the top fins. If you don't like the fins, simply sand them off—no need to risk destroying a rare original part!
    • Take your time: Sand, prime, and repeat until you get your desired finish. Avoid aggressive sanding on the main body.
    • Use or buy which ever base you need for your carb or TBI set up. (Base not included)
    The pictures:
As reference I show a Rustomelum Regal Red one, sanded, primered, painted. Holes drilled, B U I C K letters added. The fins on originals (repainting) or this version are always difficult to paint, plan according, lighting with gloss paint makes them look unevenly painted. (no kidding, I used a hand held power blower to flow the paint as best I could). Manufacturing seams are also present, a little top sanding, filler (primer) can be used if you want prefect, basically everything you would need to do to restore an original. There are two oringals in the pictures for you to visually reference.
