Packard 288 Straight 8 Cylinder Head, Standard Eight, Cast Iron, As Found
Click HERE for more information about this vehicle.

Original Packard cylinder head, cast iron, marked "288 STD" — the standard-displacement head used on Packard's entry-level Standard and Deluxe Eight line, and later the junior 200-series/Clipper models through the early 1950s. Companion piece to (but a different, lower-compression casting than) the flagship "Thunderbolt" 327 head.
Condition:
As-found / uncleaned condition with surface rust throughout, as shown in photos — cosmetic surface oxidation on cast iron, not a statement on internal condition. Has NOT been pressure tested, magnafluxed, or inspected for cracks. Casting marks and numbers ("288 STD") are legible. Sold as-is; buyer should plan on inspection/cleaning before use. Please review all photos closely and ask questions before purchasing.
A correct, genuine Packard straight-8 head for restorers needing the standard-displacement application — not the Thunderbolt, but the right part if that's what your engine calls for.
